Previously, your volunteers were asked to renew their DBS if their current DBS expired at any point during the season they are registering for.
For example, if John Jones registered for the 2021/2022 season in September 2021, and his current DBS expires May 30th 2022, John was being asked to renew his DBS check even though it had 8 months left until expiry. John's registration was also not able to be approved on the clubs MYWRU Dashboard because he would have been 'greyed out' until he completes his new DBS check.
For season 2022/2023, we have changed this to make it easier for both CSO's and volunteers.
Now, when a volunteer registers, and they have more than 90 days to go on their current DBS, their registration will be able to be approved immediately by the club.
The volunteer will then be asked to renew their DBS once they have less than 90 days left on their current DBS. They will be sent an email from wsa.wales@noreply.screening-services.co.uk with instructions on how to proceed.
If a volunteer registers and they have less than 90 days to go on their current DBS from the date they registered, then a new DBS application will be triggered immediately and their registration will be greyed out until they complete their new DBS check.
